ECS awarded Thrive Wellbeing Bronze Award

ECS are passionate about the wellbeing of our staff across the multiple services we are commissioned to provide. We have been working with the Thrive Team at the West Midlands Combined Authority to assess how we deliver that commitment in practice.

Following a comprehensive Health Needs Assessment various interventions and incentives were embedded into our daily operations culminating in an all staff survey and 1 to 1 interviews looking at four areas:

  • Enablers of Health

  • Mental Health

  • Musculoskeletal

  • Lifestyles.

The evidence provided and the interviews that were held gave the assessor assurance that Engaging Communities Solutions CIC is fully committed to the wellbeing of its employees. Our promotion of wellbeing is supported with an internal site dedicated to wellbeing and lifestyle improvement/awareness information and messaging which are circulated by email as well.

ECS is very proud to achieve this award, especially when the assessors report included statements such as: “…staff described the organisation as ‘supportive’ and ‘empowering’. They agreed that employee wellbeing is prioritised, there is a feeling of psychological safety and work-life balance, and senior leaders and line managers genuinely care for employees' wellbeing.”

Simon Fogell, CEO of ECS said “What a great achievement for everyone connected with ECS. We are nothing without our colleagues so it is very important that we have developed such a positive approach to health and wellbeing within the company that reflect the value we place on supporting one another. It doesn’t end here though as we continue to look for ways to ensure that we keep all our health and wellbeing at the forefront of what we do. Big thanks to Deb Faulks and Tracy Cresswell for leading this process, as their hard work is benefiting us all in receiving the Bronze Thrive at Work award.”
