Engaging Communities Solutions (ECS) announces Cyber Essentials Plus Certificate of Compliance Achieved.

ECS has achieved Cyber Essentials Plus Accreditation for the second year running, demonstrating our ongoing commitment to cyber security.

The growing threat of cyber-related crime is quickly becoming a major concern for most organisations and business leaders. With regular reports of high-profile businesses falling victim to cybercrime across the globe, it’s the responsibility of every organisation to ensure they adequately protect themselves and their customers.

The certification demonstrates that the company’s policies and procedures are strong enough to protect against cyber threats. CE+ requires independent verification by an external auditor who conducts a series of technical assessments to ensure the company is protected against various attack scenarios.

This certification was awarded after a rigorous technical review of ECS’s security processes, workstations, digital assets, platforms, and people. The assessment was conducted by CyberLab, an independent security specialist, who are members of the IASME consortium, and it is renewable every 12 months. In total, around 100 digital assets were in scope of the evaluation.

“We are committed to protecting our various stakeholders, partners, and employees,” said Mohammed Arabo, Corporate Communications & Marketing Officer of ECS. “The Cyber Essentials Certification offers peace of mind to organisations, and our clients, confirming that we have sufficient technical controls in place to defend against many common cyber-attacks. To achieve Cyber Essentials Plus Accreditation, we have to prove the systems and processes we documented to achieve Cyber Essentials actually work in practice, by undergoing a technical audit by an approved IASM Certification Body.”

In response to the certification, our Managing Director, Elizabeth Learoyd said, “as an organisation working closely with the public sector, we see this accreditation as an essential requirement to demonstrate how seriously we take our commitment to ensuring that our client’s data is secure and protected. CE+ is an important certification for us to given rate at which crime related to cyber-related activities is increasing and as such, is becoming a paramount concern for UK businesses and everything going on in the world.

Elizabeth added; “This is proof of our ongoing commitment to always making sure that cyber security is at the forefront of everything we do and applying them across the board. Security is key to everything that we do and achieving this standard is proof that the whole company fully applies that ethos.”

Cyber Essentials is a government-backed scheme that helps companies protect themselves against a wide variety of the most common cyber-attacks and was introduced by the UK Government’s National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC).
